COMPANY PROFILE AND HISTORY
Borneo Heritage began as a business selling handicrafts from Kalimantan of various kinds such as woven bags from grass and rattan through social media such as Facebook and Instagram.
Following enthusiastic requests from customers both inside and outside of Indonesia, a physical store was opened after two years of online operation. This store has worked together from 2017 until the present with local craftspeople in Kalimantan to market and distribute their products.
With time, Borneo Heritage recognized enormous potential in the fields of performing arts and tourism to promote Dayak music and dance. Aside from this, Borneo Heritage acts as a tour agency focused on culture, nature, and adventure.
Borneo Heritage has received support from local government, including from the Head of the Barito Timur District, the Departments of Tourism and Industry, and UMKM, Central Kalimantan.
VISION
To become the preeminent brand for arts and crafts of Kalimantan, form a meeting place for craftsmen and artists (dance and music) to create. Market quality of authentic crafts and exotic tour from Kalimantan with the hopes of preserving the Dayak culture of Kalimantan, while always striving to provide the best customer service possible.
MISSION
*Introduce the culture and traditions of Kalimantan to a broader audience.
*Develop and promote traditional arts of Kalimantan (dance, music, and clothing), organize nature and culture tours, local craftsmanship, and participate in exhibitions locally, nationally, and internationally.
*Introduce people to various aspects of Kalimantan culture such as Mandau (dagger), tameng (shield), and miniatures of Betang style houses as a symbol of the Dayak philosophy.
*Help to promote and advise local craftspeople in the more remote areas of Kalimantan to bring their products to market with high quality for sale both locally and internationally.
